Tennis Pro

Hello!

I'm really liking tennis lately. I have to practice a lot so I can kick David's butt when he gets back Tuesday! Since my partner is unavailable I play with racquetballs in the racquetball. I did 25 minutes after dinner tonight!
My morning before work was centered around my 7 mile run. I fueled up with a peach protein smoothie.
As I drank breakfast Dixie helped me foam roll. If I'm on the floor she has to be on top of me- with foam rolling her pressure works quite well! (The run went great! 10min. miles!)
Lunch was a granola bar and reheated vegan carrot sweet potato soup. It was eaten while running out of the house and driving!
Afternoon snacks included mixed nuts, a pink lady apple and a huge carrot!!!

For dinner I had sweet potato fries and a spinach salad with sesame seeds, nutritional yeast and soy ginger dressing. Perfect :)
I'm trying to hold off from going to the grocery store until right before David comes home, but I just had to buy some bananas (and an acorn squash)! I'm so excited to have naner oats in the morning!
Well I am exhausted! It's Wednesday, so that's allowed... right?

Do you play tennis? Have any tips for a beginner?

Thanks for stopping by my blog Ashley! I love playing tennis but I only get a chance to when I'm at home. My parents are HUGE tennis fans and players! It's such a fun I-didn't-even-realize-I-was-exercising activity.

I look forward to reading more from ya!

I used to take tennis lessons when I was a kid but now just randomly hit a ball around with Ross. Definitely no help to ya!

All you runners are inspiring me lately! I really want to get back into it but I think I have some sort of weird mental block. I just need to do it!!!

I love the tennis racket picture, but I don't play tennis. 'Nuff said.

I love playing tennis with my friends when the weather is nice. I played in Junior high on the team. I took group lessons or attended clinics. I would highly suggest checking into them in your area. It will help you get the correct form and give you lots of useful pointers.

    Most importantly, have fun!

Ha, I can't get close to the floor without having my dogs all over me either ; ) I just can't help but love them.

Hi hi! How are you? Great job on the run and tennis! Sounds like a very healthy day. That soup looks so good- I want to try it. My dog is always sitting right next to me/on top of me when I'm on the ground too! Hilarious

I play tennis with the husband. Let me clarify that statement, I attempt to play tennis with my husband. But I am not that great so I can't really offer any pointers. Sarah suggestion into looking for clinics sounds like a great idea. Our local college offers tennis classes, so that could be somethign you could look into.

My sister and I always tried playing tennis as teenagers, and laughed the whole time because we sucked so bad!

Dixie sounds a lot like Daisy! She will not let me do anything on the floor without being right on top of me.

That soup looks just as good as when you first made it. Did you freeze it?

  16. Alison on August 20, 2009 2:34 PM

I'd love to play racketball. I've tried it once and enjoyed it. I'm curious about squash too. And tennis. So many sports, so little time.

I love tennis! I played in high school though we were terrible. It is so much fun! Maybe sign up for some lessons to learn the basics but then just have fun with it! My husband and I play together and we don't take it too seriously. We play for fun.

  20. Fitnut on August 20, 2009 9:09 PM

Hehe, that picture of you with the tennis racket is cute :) Tennis is the one sport I wish I knew how to play! Looks like such great exercise and a lot of fun.

Hehe. Jas and I have thought about taking up tennis, but sorry no advice this way! Oh and my cat lays all over my textbooks too haha. Guess that's his way of saying "Notice Me!"
