Review: Naturally More PB (and Dixie update!)

Dixie sleeping in the car after the dog park.. so sweet!

Dixie came into my life two short days ago but is already the apple of my eye. I love her so much.

Dixie has two settings. She is either playing or napping. She enjoys walks, playing fetch, catching lizards and snuggle-playing (where we roll around laughing). In 30 seconds flat she'll be in your lap napping. If nobody is paying attention to her, Dixie will lie down and go to sleep. She is a little angel.

Today we went to the vet and found out she hasn't been taken care of as well as she deserves. Dixie's previous mom never took her to the vet to get any vaccinations or tests and she is already 5-months-old. Dixie had fleas, roundworm, low weight and a few serious things I can't remember... but she has received all treatment and is much healthier now!

I promise to have a lot of Dixie photos!
__________

Funny story.

I searched out and bought Naturally More because I loved everything about it- the ingredients, the fact it is slightly lower in calories than normal PB....
At first bite I actually didn't think I liked it. The taste isn't very strong and it's texture is a little grainy.

Umm, turns out I did like it. Quite a bit.
It is slightly sweet and really tummy. I'd say it's texture is somewhere between regular peanut butter and ground almond butter. Like I said, I liked it :) My favorite part is the addition of flax.

Thank you, Naturally More for yummy PB-naner-oats and lots of yummy PB-on-a-sppon snacks :)

What is your favorite nut butter? Have you tried naturally More?

Check out Lori's interview with me over at

Poor little pup...she is lucky to have a mom like you now!

Please be careful taking her around other dog areas until her vaccinations are finalized. Distemper and Parvo are horrible, sometimes fatal diseases!

  3. runsarah on June 8, 2009 2:12 PM

Poor Dixie - so glad she has you to take care of her.

  4. Anne on June 8, 2009 2:19 PM

Aw, poor Dixie! I'm glad that you have her now to care for her :)

I really want to try that Naturally More PB, too! Thanks for the review :D My favorite nut butter is PB & Co. Either the dark chocolate or mighty maple. Mmmm!

  5. GreenDogWine on June 8, 2009 2:30 PM

  6. Anna on June 8, 2009 2:41 PM

mmm I gotta get me some of that naturally more!

  7. Sara on June 8, 2009 3:19 PM

Not everyone is meant to be a pet owner and I think it's sad when the animal has to suffer for that. I'm glad she has a good home now!

  8. Julie on June 8, 2009 4:12 PM

I felt the SAME way about Naturally More when I first tried it! Now I love it AND miss it! I have to search it out around here again haha. I reallly love Better N Peanut Butter :) it's def my fav!

  9. Stacey on June 8, 2009 4:48 PM

I've never tried that, but have given it some thought. I am so addicted to dark chocolate pb, it's hard for me grab something else off the shelf!!

I really like PB&Co. peanut butters, but my all time favorite is Smuckers All Natural Chunky PB :) Poor Dixie, good thing she has a good mommy now!!

  10. Carolina John on June 8, 2009 5:28 PM

i wish i had a favorite nut butter. i like them all too much to pick just one.

  11. K from ksgoodeats on June 8, 2009 6:34 PM

I haven't tried Naturally More so thanks for the review!! I really like Barney Butter :)

I'm so glad Dixie has you in her life now!!

  12. Alison on June 8, 2009 8:47 PM

My dog had worms when I first got him. Luckily they're easy to treat.

I've never had Naturally More. I grew up loving Jif PB. Now I can't tolerate it. I love the natural PB so much it's hard to vary from it. I have developed a taste for chunky PB.

  13. carolinebee on June 8, 2009 9:20 PM

LOVE naturally more! I like the graininess :D My next plan is to try the plain-ground nut butter from WF! Hope your pup is doing well girlie!

  14. just me on June 8, 2009 9:43 PM

  17. eatingfree on June 9, 2009 6:25 AM

Dixie is so lucky to have a mom like you now :) Can't wait to see more pics!

  18. A on June 9, 2009 9:41 AM

Wow... you really did LOVE it!! Ha! I try all different kinds of nut butter. I like to many to stick with one. I guess you could say I'm a nutt butter slut!

  19. Diana on June 9, 2009 10:39 AM

I have been curious about Naturally More! Wondering if it tastes "different" kinda like Better n PB tastes different!

Dixie looks like an angel - lucky her for getting to live with you. :)

  20. livinghealthyintherealworld on June 9, 2009 12:19 PM

Ahaha I did the same thing with PB2. Tasted it, wondered if I liked it, then realized that the jar was empty. I think that PB in general is just addicting :D

  21. Lacey Nicole on June 9, 2009 3:01 PM

i gotta try this! i don't buy PB often if it's just for me b/c i eat it a little too quickly... in mass quantities...

  22. Mariposa on June 9, 2009 4:50 PM

awww!!! the poor little dog. i love pups too- waiting for the day i can have one!!

  23. traveleatlove on June 9, 2009 10:00 PM

Gorgeous puppy, and you are SO kind for taking care of her! My fave nut butter is Trader Joe's almond, roasted. I don't quite like the raw nut butters yet.

  24. Erica on June 9, 2009 10:30 PM

LOVE naturally more- I'm a total addict! SOOOO glad you got Dixie- that is thrilling. What a cutie

  25. lighterportions on June 9, 2009 11:30 PM

Glad to hear Dixie is all cleaned up and good to go :)

I've never tried Naturally More but I seriously want to. I find that exact scenario happens to me whenever I first try a nut butter I *think* I don't like. I end up loving it. A lot.

  26. Amanda's Eats on June 10, 2009 2:29 PM

My pup does that too, if no one is playing with him he'll either go find his chewie and lay down destroying it quietly or just sleep. He was abandoned on the side of the road and had worms and stuff too when we got him :( Yay for puppies getting the treatment they deserve!

  27. Holly on June 10, 2009 4:02 PM

I can't wait for all the Dixie pics! She looks so, so sweet. And very lucky to have YOU!

Hmmm....right now I eat Smart Balance crunchy PB, but I hear TJ's is really good, too. So that's my next purchase!

  28. Lori on June 10, 2009 6:20 PM

She has two settings. Ha, ha! I love that. I'm sure with all your love and special care her health will turn around quickly.

My mom had some of that PB when I was home and I loved it. I admit you have to get used to texture, but it grew on me quickly. Nut butters are all in a tie for me. I like every one I have tried. However, my most recent find is cashew butter and it is amazing!

  29. ttfn300 on June 10, 2009 10:58 PM

glad dixie is doing better now!! so cute :)

i fell in love with naturally more, too, but not with the price tag...

  30. Elina on June 11, 2009 7:14 AM

I've never tried Naturally More, but I didn't like Naturally Nutty and for some reason I'm putting them in the same category. Have you tried Natural Nutty?

  31. Hope's Journey to Healthy on June 11, 2009 9:40 AM

Recently, I feel in love with Barney Butter Almond Butter.

And I am totally in love with your dog! What a cutie! I am super jealous! I have two cats now and need a dog to complete the family, and I can't wait to get one! Bring on more pictures! :)

    Hope
